Shamarion Whitaker

Shamarion Whitaker spent 24 years at Universal McCann Advertising Agency where she served Fortune 500 companies.  She is a former inspirational FM radio talk show host, and author of two inspirational books. She is the founder and Executive Director of New Beginnings for Women of Houston, Inc. Shamarion holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

 

Vandetta Levingston

Vandetta Levingston worked 13 years for the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as a Procurement Officer. For the past 12 years, she has worked as an independent contractor serving the needs of the elderly by providing home health care services. Vandetta is also a Board member of The Treatment Center, formerly Hold My Hand Emergency Shelter, and has served as a volunteer In-take Coordinator at Bering Omega. Vandetta currently serves as Treasurer for New Beginnings for Women of Houston, Inc.


Elaine Wiggins

Elaine Wiggins is a certified Elementary Education Teacher, teaching in the Katy Independent School District.  She is also a 3rd Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Tae Kwon Do and has served as Coordinator for Keep Kicking It, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that teaches life skills to children through Martial Arts. Before her career in education, she served twenty years in the computer technology industry. Elaine holds a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology (M.Ed) from Prairie View A&M University.

Kenton Lockhart

Kenton Lockhart is an experienced accountant.  He brings 10 years of experience to the Board of Directors. He has worked at firms such as Landry’s Corporation and Universal Weather and Aviation. He currently holds a position at Enterprise Products. Kenton holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.

Janice Bailey

Following her 10 year corporate career at P&O Containers, Janice Bailey became the founder and operator of The Cookie Art Cart, a company that has enjoyed over 10 years of success. The Cookie Art Cart is a baking and decorating company that caters to children, while encouraging them in their creativity and self-confidence. 


Anita McBride

Anita McBride has worked in the television industry for 25 years. Her career has primarily been in major/medium market television advertising sales. The majority of her sales career has been on the national level. Anita is currently employed as a broadcast television manager in North Carolina.
